“Dragon Dictation” is developed by Nuance Communications. It is free to download and contains no in-app purchases. It is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later.
This a mobile version of a program that you may have seen commercials for, where yous see a person speaking into a microphone and the program types what the person says. This app is a basic version of that program. You do not need a physical microphone as the Apple devices contain a built in microphone. You simply speak and the app types what you say. When you do this, the app types the words with nothing else, do periods, commas, question marks, or exclamation points. So, if you are using it to “type” something that needs to be grammatically correct, you will need to type in the corrections.
All in all, this is a good app for when you need to type short messages. You cannot save your work on the app, so you will need to move the work to another app once finished. This app is free so try it and see if you like it.
Dragon Dictation is an easy-to-use voice recognition application powered by Dragon® NaturallySpeaking® that allows you to easily speak and instantly see your text or email messages. In fact, it’s up to five (5) times faster than typing on the keyboard.
With Dragon Dictation you can also dictate status updates directly to your Social Networking applications (Facebook and Twitter) or send notes and reminders to yourself….all using your voice. So when you’re on-the-go, stop typing and start speaking – from short text messages to longer email messages, and anything in between.
Dragon Dictation supports a multitude of global languages.
